Fair enough; I guess to their credit, they did seem to pay a great deal of attention to just what you are commenting on. That is, relative to other bands, I never heard so much stage banter about tuning and the monitors, and the like...thus, it seems they were aware of the problem you are talking about. I guess my point would be that nonetheless, if you listen to Phil and Jerry on a blistering Eleven in 68, that they must have gotten it right, at some level? But, again, I suppose I wouldn't know for sure...just going on the sound and the energy.

thinking about this i realized that i missed the most important point of your last post, "just going on the sound and the energy"

any harmonic technique book worth the paper it's writen on will tell you that the concepts and exercises are mere mathematics without relating them directly with sound...and the "rules" are allowed to be broken if what you propose sounds good

"just going on the sound and energy" - right fucking on

considering the events surrounding you hereabouts the last few days, i would like to clarify
-"actually, it's cats like you..." = don't sell yourself short

as always, a pleasure conversing with you

Couldn't agree more, MS; feeling is mutual.

Hoping those disks arrive soon; couldn't believe that the ones I sent to Rob across the pond arrived in his hot little hands within about four days and I sent those the day I sent yours. But, suppose it is tougher sledding up your way these days especially!
